These strawberry orange white wine sangrias are light, fresh, slightly sweet, fizzy and they're the perfect way to beat the heat in town. Sangrias normally need a large amount of fruit and some time to rest. Make this a couple of hours ahead of time to allow the fruit to soak up the wine and the flavours to develop. If you're having a summer barbecue, you can also make this ahead of time and leave it to rest overnight.
Sangria is a wine punch typical of Spain and Portugal, which is also consumed in Argentina and Uruguay.
Ingredients
1 Orange (Sliced)
1 cup Basil loosely packed
2 cups Strawberries sliced
2 Lime sliced
1 Bottle Chardonnay White Wine
½ cup Tequila / Vodka / Brandy
3 cups Sparkling Water / Soda
White Wine Sangria Recipe
Method -:
Step 1.
While chopping the oranges and limes, leave the peels on. In a pitcher, combine the fruits, lime, and basil.
Step 2.
Over the fruits, Pour tequila or vodka; wine and mix well.
Step 3.
Refrigerate the mix for at least 3-4 hours or overnight if possible. If it rests in the fridge, the flavour will enhance and improve. Pour in the sparkling water or soda when ready to serve. Serve straight away.
White Wine Types
Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, or Pinot Grigio are all dry, crisp wines to choose from. Stick to inexpensive bottles of wine that you can enjoy on their own rather than anything very costly.
The pears and pineapple aromas in the Chardonnay pair well with the strawberries and oranges in the sangria. It's a well-balanced wine with a touch of butterscotch flavour and acidity. When making Sangria, we'll need both. It's the best brunch wine because it complements goat cheese, asparagus salads, and even seafood.
Cheers!
Now Enjoy Your White Wine Sangria
