Ritu Kumar Fashion Designer

1.  Ritu Kumar

With more than 50 years of experience, this Indian Fashion Designer did not have an educational background in this field. She started her career as a fashionista from Kolkata with a pair of small tables and knowledge of hand-block printing. She used natural fabrics and dedicated her works to traditional weaving techniques.  Soon during the 1990s, this lady fashion designer stepped into the international market and won the hearts of many influential ladies. Her touch of Western elements on her dresses makes each and every piece an epitome of elegance.

This Indian famous Fashion Designer has a vision that merges contemporary and traditional elements, with modernity taking the lead. Her luxurious embroidery work on her ethnic dresses are renowned among top ranked celebrities worldwide. She is known for mixing our Indian culture through feminine drapes in a very chic style of the present-day world. This women’s fashion designer represented India when she was offered to re-design the exquisite line of Levi’s trucker jackets. 
Masaba Gupta

This Indian famous Fashion Designer has a vision that merges contemporary and traditional elements, with modernity taking the lead. Her luxurious embroidery work on her ethnic dresses are renowned among top ranked celebrities worldwide. 3. Neeta Lulla

Have you seen the movie ‘Mohenjo Daro’? She was the woman leading the design team of phenomenal stylists for the film. This Indian Fashion Designer has worked on over 300 films and she was the one who designed costumes for the movie ‘Devdas’.  She is recognized for using Paithani, an ancient tapestry method that blends many threads of different colors, as well as gold and silver threads, to produce a dynamic piece of silk. She established the ‘Whistling Wood International Neeta School of Fashion’ in Mumbai in 2013, which is currently owned by Subhas Ghai.

This Indian Fashion Designer operates from Kolkata and was invited to Pakistan to display her bridal collections for Bridal Asia at the beginning of her career. We all have witnessed her stunning collections at Lakme Fashion Week 2004 where she showcased her international brand ‘Ana Mika’ and also saw her ace it at Paris Fashion Week 2007. In her creations, she incorporated zardosi, dhoti-pants, shararas, lehengas, and modernized Indian craft. It's Goth, Punk, and Bohemian all at the same time.

She is also the only Fashion Designer to get featured in Promostyl’s magazine ‘Acustyl’.  She was appointed the head of the French fashion house, Jean Louis Scherrer, to style their pret-a-porter collections in 2000. In 2010, Ritu Beri received the "Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres" accolade from the French government. She is famous for her feminine and funky designs.
